Christine Campbell

A killer guitarist, a classically-trained pianist, a sincere, dynamic songwriter, and an incomparable singer; Christine Campbell is truly a rare, multi-faceted talent. Ranging from a raspy, rocking powerhouse to a soft, heartstring-tugging chanteuse, she brings entire audiences to a hush – and then to their feet.

ChristineCampbell-w With a voice that combines the best elements of Anne Wilson, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin, and a staggeringly awesome band (featuring Blake Johnston on guitar and vocals, Peter Davison on Drums, and Shaky White on bass), Christine Campbell is a mesmerizing musical force. It is not at all surprising that her ever-expanding, loyal fanbase helped to cement The Christine Campbell Band as the special guests of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in Halifax and Saint John in Nov 2014.

Christine is PEI-born, now Halifax-based. 2013 marked the heralded release of her debut Solo album; self-titled, the album is an acoustic, bluesy, stripped down affair, a departure from her Les Paul-wielding Stone Mary front-woman persona. “Christine Campbell”…the album…immediately garnered fantastic reviews. Three SRO CD releases followed, in NS, NB and PEI. She went on to receive standing ovations as the solo opener for Chantal Kreviazuk, and with her band as opener for Lou Gramm (formerly of Foreigner). Christine has also opened for The Kentucky Headhunters, and Bif Naked, and shared the bills and/or stages with Tom Wilson (aka Lee Harvey Osmond), Tom Holland, July Talk, Jully Black, Charlie A’Court, Monster Truck, Rick Derringer, Ron Hynes, Dave Gunning, Lennie Gallant, Bruce Guthro and Matt Andersen (who sings a duet with C on the album)…among many others. She has blown away Festival crowds at StanFest, DutchFest, Lunenburg Folk Fest, Halifax Urban Folk Fest, PEI Jazz and Blues Fest, and Harmony Bazaar.

cc-w All the while, the Press has praised her laurels. Newspapers, magazines and online media take special note. Radio stations like CBC, Q104, CKBW and XFM have played her tracks and/or featured her live in-studio, and has Christine made appearances on CBC-TV, CTV, Global and APTN’s Candy Show….twice! She’s been featured in the Chronicle Herald, The Metro, and on the front page of the Truro Daily News. Her online ECMA profile was the most viewed of 2013, and she was deservedly nominated as Best New Artist in 2013 by Music NS. Her album made CBC’s Stan Carew’s Top 10 list for 2013.

Currently writing fantastic new songs in preparation for a new album in 2015, and continuing a non-stop touring schedule, Christine Campbell is building an exciting profile as the strongest rock/blues voice from Eastern Canada in decades!
